The funny thing is that during all this time I always wrote poetry and filled up innumerable journals with my writing, drawings, and some photographs that inspired me. This is my stack of journals so far.
After Cole was born, I received my first 35mm camera and I loved taking photographs with it. Photography allowed me to be creative, while using my keen observational skills. Looking through the camera lens had the affect of calming me down, touching my heart and often making me laugh. I began writing about the poetry in the pictures I took and thus my first book was born, Time for Bed, Baby Ted.
Time for Bed, Baby Ted sprang from one of those frozen snapshot moments in parenting when one can only laugh while looking back on it. “The photograph captures my husband trying to put our son Cole to bed. In the end, it was Cole tucking his dad into bed.”
