Somewhere a long time ago I read this quote by F. Scott Fitzgerald, “A writer is not the smartest guy in the room, only the most observant.” This quote gave me strength to trust myself and write what I felt because I knew I was probably not the smartest in the room, but possibly the most observant.

Oh yeah, one last thing you should know about me, I believe in fairies. Yes, fairies—of all sorts, fairies of the garden, fairies of Spring, fairies of trees, and fairies of the land. Perhaps my next book will be about fairies!

I'm off to the garden with my camera to find a tulip fairy!
